Our Story.

Sargent’s Maytag was created in 1974 by Jim Sargent. Sargent's started humbly, with 1 storefront and a laundromat on Greenbrae. In 1994, Bill Clark purchased the business from Jim and began its new life and its climb to the top. Bill began to grow the business by opening a new location on Moana Ln. As more and more customers found Sargent’s, there became a need for an even bigger store. With the original location being ran by Jim Lemonds and Wendy, Bill decided to open The Maytag Store on South Meadows Parkway. This store was beautiful and housed high end appliances that boasted the same high quality we were known for. Unfortunately, the 2008 recession reared its ugly head and higher end appliances just weren’t able to keep the location open. In 2012, we had to move our operation back to a single location, where we continue to operate today.

Our current owner, Shaun, started working for Bill in 2007, where he started off cleaning the shop and doing extra deliveries. As he learned more, developed his service skills and became more mature, Bill began showing him the ropes to eventually take over the store. In 2016, Shaun began managing the store. In 2020, Shaun officially purchased the store, but kept Bill on as an advisor to help him maintain the old fashioned vibe.

Jim and Bill continue to drop by the store to this day to see how things are going, and we’re proud to report they always have a smile on their face when they leave.

We still have the laundromat, but have grown from 1 storefront to 4 and to employee 10+ employees. Even though we have grown in size and the amount of employees we have, our attention to detail and unmatched customer service has not changed throughout the years. If you are looking to do business with a truly local company, you’ve come to the right place.
